Flux Cored Solder Wire
High quality flux cored solder wires from Bill Shorthouse Metals are supplied in all specifications including Lead-Free. Rosin based, SRA (1% halide) RA (0.5% halide) and RMA (trace halide) all three formulations are offered in a variety of flux percentages to allow the user to balance flow rate and minimise flux residues. All flux residues are clear and conform to the most stringent of international and commercial specifications.
A rosin (colophony) free range of flux cored solder wires which contain no rosin/resin acids, pine oil or other naturally occurring derivatives from pine trees are supplied to help reduce the number of world wide cases of industrial asthma. Lead-Free is also available in this range. Passes the copper mirror corrosion and surface insulation requirements of Bellcore TR-NWT-000078 and J-STD-004.
Other no-clean flux cored solder wires are available to meet customer specific requirements.
Acid Cored Solder Wires
Acid cored solder wires are supplied for industrial hand soldering applications and solder all metals except aluminium. Our Acid cored solder wires can be manufactured in any of the BSM Part numbers listed below. Should not be used in electronic or electrical applications.
Flux cored solder wire for soldering aluminium and aluminium alloys are also supplied. These will also solder all other metals including stainless steel and they are available in 1.6mm dia and 1.0mm dia. (Melting range 178°C-270°C).
